A quiet room in Mitte

Hilde Berlin is named for a stylist's grandmother who believed a haircut appointment should feel like visiting someone's home, not processing through a factory. The atelier carries that idea into Mitte: a small, calm, by-appointment studio where one guest is the whole agenda, coffee is real, and the chair belongs to a senior stylist — never an apprentice. Nothing here is rushed, up-sold, or done for the camera first and the mirror second.

What we do

The studio specializes in editorial cuts and lived-in colour — shapes and shades designed to grow out beautifully, so the work holds between visits instead of collapsing at week five. Colour is ammonia-free and the product wall is fully vegan, chosen for performance rather than marketing. Every appointment begins with a hair and scalp health consult, included in the price: a look at condition, history, and what your hair can actually carry, because a great cut on damaged hair is a temporary rumour.

How we work

Bookings are made online in advance, consultations are unhurried, and stylist assignments are consistent — you see the same hands each visit, and those hands average more than a decade of chair time. Between appointments, guests get honest maintenance advice, including when not to book. The client base is built almost entirely on regulars and their referrals, which is the only advertising we've ever needed.
